PDQ adds ticketing integrations & macOS vulnerability tools

PDQ has introduced new ticketing integrations, macOS vulnerability management and application programming interfaces for its IT management platform, broadening support for mixed Windows and Mac environments.

The update adds integrations with Zendesk, ServiceNow and Halo, extending PDQ's existing links with Jira, Freshservice and Freshdesk. Authorised technicians can view a requester's device details inside a support ticket and take actions such as deploying software, opening the device record in PDQ or starting a remote desktop session.

Support staff can work within the ticketing system instead of switching between separate tools to look up device data. The aim is to reduce time spent on manual searches and lower the risk of mistakes when handling requests.

The release also expands PDQ's vulnerability management workflow to macOS. Users can now view and prioritise vulnerabilities across Windows and macOS devices from a single interface, with CVE information showing whether an issue affects Windows, macOS or both.

For IT teams managing mixed estates, the change brings Mac devices into the same workflow already used for Windows. Administrators can investigate vulnerable software, review affected devices and deploy available fixes through the platform, including remediation for supported third-party applications on macOS.

A single deployment can address supported applications across both operating systems. Existing controls, including automation, role-based access controls, audit logs and reporting, also apply to macOS devices.

Alongside the ticketing and vulnerability updates, PDQ has launched new APIs covering custom fields, vulnerability data and deployment status. These are designed to help IT teams move data between PDQ and other internal systems used for reporting, ticketing, compliance and automation.

The Custom Fields API allows external systems to update or retrieve device metadata stored in PDQ, including ownership details, asset information and business context. The Vulnerabilities API provides access to vulnerability data for broader reporting and operational workflows, while the Deployment Status API gives programmatic access to deployment outcomes, including success and failure information.

These APIs will also be available through PDQ's Zapier integration, giving customers another way to connect the platform with existing processes without building direct integrations from scratch.

PDQ has also made a series of smaller product changes. These include a macOS processes tab showing running processes on individual Mac devices, bulk actions for ignoring multiple vulnerabilities, reports limited to selected device groups, adjustable lookback windows for dashboard views and the ability to create device groups from CSV data.

Customer base

PDQ sells endpoint management tools for Windows and macOS devices, covering areas such as patching, software deployment and vulnerability management. It says it serves more than 33,000 customers, including system administrators, managed service providers and in-house IT teams.

Ticketing integrations are available to PDQ Premium customers, according to the company. The broader product changes reflect growing demand among IT departments for tools that bring support, endpoint management and security data into fewer workflows as organisations continue to manage devices across multiple operating systems.

Mark Littlefield, Vice President of Product at PDQ, said the changes are intended to reduce the operational friction created when support and security information sits in separate systems.

"These updates bring device context and action closer to where work is already happening, while giving teams a more consistent way to manage vulnerabilities across Windows and macOS."
