Antaris has launched Antaris Academy, a training platform for businesses and individuals in Ireland.

The platform will offer public and private courses in health and safety, risk management, quality, environment and energy. The courses are intended to help organisations respond to regulatory change, workplace risk and climate-related pressures.

The launch comes as companies in Ireland face tighter regulation, supply chain disruption and rising expectations around sustainability performance. Smaller businesses, in particular, are under pressure to meet customer requirements and recognised standards without extensive in-house expertise.

Course range

The training list includes CQI IRCA-certified programmes covering ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001 and 27001. The academy will also provide Institute of Sustainability & Environmental Professionals-certified courses on pathways to net zero, environmental sustainability skills for managers, and environmental sustainability skills for the workforce.

Other programmes include CompEx-certified training in awareness, foundation and explosive atmospheres, along with health and safety courses in hazard identification and risk assessment. The offering is available for in-house teams as well as through public courses.

The academy also includes a new learning management system, introduced as demand for structured training rises. Antaris linked that demand to a broader need among clients to manage compliance, improve internal processes and address environmental obligations.

Merger backdrop

The launch follows Antaris's recent merger with sustainability consultancy Pragmatica. The deal brought the two firms together under the Antaris name and combined more than 30 years of experience in sustainability strategy, ESG and ISO standards.

Following the merger, the business said it now offers more than 45 services and has teams in Limerick and Kildare. The expanded organisation has 18 specialists working across sustainability, certification, compliance and training.

Antaris described the academy as an extension of its broader advisory work. Clients that already use the company for consultancy or certification support can also use the academy to train staff internally in areas linked to regulation, management systems and sustainability.

The approach reflects a wider market shift as companies look beyond external advice and try to build knowledge in-house. Training in ISO standards, environmental management and workplace safety has become more relevant as supply chains place greater scrutiny on suppliers' processes and reporting.

For many Irish businesses, especially SMEs, the challenge is not only understanding changing rules but putting systems in place that can withstand customer audits and certification requirements. Courses linked to ISO 9001 on quality management, ISO 14001 on environmental management and ISO 45001 on occupational health and safety are commonly used as part of that process.

Environmental training is also becoming more prominent as firms respond to decarbonisation targets and customer requests for better emissions and sustainability data. Antaris's academy includes a net zero pathway course intended for sustainability and environmental professionals working through the transition to a lower-carbon economy.

At the same time, sectors dealing with hazardous environments and operational risk continue to have specific training needs. The CompEx courses and hazard identification programmes are designed for those settings, where regulatory compliance and workforce safety are closely linked.

Eugene Cush, Chief Executive Officer of Antaris, commented on the pressures facing businesses as the academy opens. "Organisations are facing a perfect storm of regulatory pressure, supply chain, climate risk and operational challenges. The Antaris Academy is designed to give businesses the practical skills and confidence they need to respond - not just to comply, but to build resilience," he said.
