Dayforce has launched Dayforce Build and Dayforce Marketplace, expanding how customers and partners can create and manage software on its human capital management platform.

Dayforce Build lets customers and partners create apps, bots and documents on the platform by describing what they want in plain language. Dayforce Marketplace is a catalogue for exploring, installing and managing those tools from Dayforce, partners and customers.

The new products are aimed at businesses that need workforce tools tailored to their own processes. Dayforce said organisations have often had to choose between separate software products and slower custom development to meet those needs.

According to Dayforce, Build sits on its existing platform and uses its single data model. Users can publish new solutions and updated screens once approved, while administrators can review what an app will read and write before granting access to teams or roles.

Solutions created through Build run in an isolated sandbox and use the same permission controls, audit trail and approval workflows as the wider Dayforce system, the company said.

How it works

Dayforce said organisations can use the tool to create bots that monitor tasks and carry out multi-step assignments across Dayforce and connected systems, produce presentations and reports from prompts, and make Dayforce experiences available through other workplace tools and external AI assistants.

Build is model-agnostic, using different large language models depending on the task, according to the company. The aim is to let non-technical users create working software and workflow tools without writing code.

Marketplace is designed to reduce the need to start from scratch. Users will be able to review descriptions, previews, publisher information and version histories before installing software, and manage access for different workforce groups in one place, Dayforce said.

The marketplace also includes curated collections organised around roles, workflows, product areas and business needs. External data sources can also be connected through the system, according to Dayforce.

Partner ecosystem

Several implementation, consulting and software partners are already developing tools for the platform, including Aflac, Checkr, Deloitte, Emburse, Guusto, PwC and WorkBright.

Customers and partners that want to publish in Marketplace will be able to use Dayforce Build Academy, a training and certification programme for publishers. The academy is intended to help maintain the quality and scale of tools offered to users, Dayforce said.

"If you can describe what your business needs, you can build it. That's Dayforce Build," said David Ossip, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dayforce. "Make no mistake - our HCM core is world-class, and we'll keep making it better. It's the core you need to manage your workforce with the accuracy and compliance you can't compromise on. But as work becomes more personalised, Dayforce Build gives you everything you can imagine on top of it - a first of its kind in HCM that gives you the freedom to shape what's uniquely yours in plain language, moving from idea to outcome in moments."

Deloitte is among the partners building software on the platform. Its initial application focuses on payroll compliance workflows inside Dayforce.

"Dayforce Build gives clients a way to extend the platform to fit how their business operates, complementing the native Dayforce experience," said Jen Capone, Payroll Workforce Management Leader at Deloitte Consulting LLP. "By pairing Deloitte's controls and transformation experience with live Dayforce payroll data, permissions and auditability, we can bring critical compliance workflows closer to the data they govern. For clients, that can mean less manual work, stronger visibility and a more efficient path to audit readiness. We are pleased our first application is designed to help organisations manage SOX 404 payroll controls, variance reviews and sign-offs directly inside Dayforce."

Dayforce said Dayforce Build and Dayforce Marketplace will be available in 2027.
